Turns out, it works just fine, and I get my fix of both a baked good and chocolate in 3 minutes. Win win! So here is my adaptation of the recipe. Feel free to adapt and change it however you like. This is how I personally get it to work.
Ingredients
1 egg (preferably pastured)
2 tablespoons almond flour ( I use Bob's Red Mill)
1 tablespoon honey
1 capful vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt
1 tablespoon (or so) Enjoy Life chocolate chips (they are soy lecithin free, so yay!)
Take your mug, and mix the raw egg, the honey, the vanilla, and the salt inside it first. Then add the almond flour, and mix that in. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips. Then stick your mug in the microwave, and put it on for 2 minutes and thirty seconds. Be careful taking it out of there, but voila! There you have it, a super tasty chocolate chip cake in your mug.
It really does soothe the soul and it takes almost no time at all.
